FREEDIVE AZORES

Freedive Azores was born from a profound passion for the underwater world. Founded in 2012, it began offering freediving courses in the Azores, with a special focus on the island of São Miguel. Since its inception, Freedive Azores has played a key role in the development of the sport in the region, offering training and experiences for all levels of freedivers.

Francisco Couto

Born and raised on São Miguel Island, I started exploring the small coves with a mask and snorkel at a very young age, creating an imagination that still fascinates me today. At 10 years old, I began spearfishing. Much later, seeking to improve my ability to hold my breath. I searched for a freediving course. Gradually, I completed the entire AIDA International training program, eventually becoming an instructor in 2012.

Today, it’s a pleasure to live of freediving and share my knowledge with beginners, curious souls, and competitive freedivers. Welcome to share the ocean with me.
